Pushpay enables US-based Churches to generate IRS compliant annual contribution statements. They may choose to prepare statements through Pushpay or they may decide to generate statements in another way. Something to keep in mind is that it is acceptable for these contribution statements to be in an electronic format that is emailed to you so long as the format is IRS-compliant.
If you have not received your contribution statement by January 31st, which is the suggested date for organizations to provide tax related documentation, please contact the organization you donated to. It is a good idea to confirm your personal details in your Pushpay profile to make it easier for organizations to provide receipts for contributions you have made.
For your convenience, however:
- You will be sent a receipt to the email address you provided during the donation process after every successful donation.
- You can view giving history associated with your account at pushpay.com/login
- NOTE: Your giving history that is available through the Pushpay login portal does not meet IRS requirements for verification of tax-deductible contributions. You must use the statement provided by the organization that you donated to in order to claim your deductions.
If your organization chooses to send Annual Giving Statements from Pushpay, you may have the following questions:
What if I usually receive a statement in the mail?
Contribution statements delivered electronically from Pushpay are IRS compliant. For this reason, you do not need to receive both an emailed and mailed statement. This will benefit you as it is a much faster and easier way to deliver statements and will eliminate the need to print or scan anything.
What if all of my giving has not been submitted through Pushpay?
Your organization will be able to ensure that you receive a statement that contains your complete giving history. It is possible that they may also send you two statements with your digital and cash giving separately. In the event you have given from multiple Pushpay accounts, your organization will be able to make sure that your cash, check, ACH and credit card gifts are included on your statement.
What do I do if I have not received my end of year tax statement by January 31?
The responsibility of sending out annual contribution statements belongs to the organization that you donated to. Please contact them with questions regarding your statement.
